January 15 – 21, 2012
Lunchtime reception : January 19th, 12 noon
The Professional Studio class of 2012 invites you to their exhibition GEN12 in the Launch Projects Gallery at the Toronto School of Art from
January 15 to 21, 2012. Opening reception Thursday January 19th from 12 – 1 pm.
We are a genus of twelve emerging artists resonating with a powerful creative energy. Identity and relationships is the common thread that
weaves through this exhibit. The artworks act as a window into our connections with others, our environment and ourselves.
The show reflects a range of experience, memory, dreams and hopes. Whether ideas are funnelled into tattoo-inspired drawings, a fusion of embroidery
threads, cloth and personal objects or layered onto a pod-like armature with steel wool, these artists portray what matters to them most.
Experimenting in sculpture, installation, digital media and two-dimensional forms of art, this group visually communicates the perpetual question of what
shapes us in society, in our personal lives and our surrounding environment.
Please join us and feel the power of GEN12.
